Hello and Welcome!

                   My name is Patricia  Spillane, sole Counsellor at A Helping Hand Counselling.

              This practice was born from my life’s experiences, having come through many                         adversities, finally gaining strength and belief in myself, and hope for a better                       Life, which had been lost.

​​

              For this reason, I am passionate about the importance of believing in each                              individual's capacity to find hope, discover their strengths, and find reasons to                      live. In many cases (not all), these visions have been buried; however, this doesn’t                    mean a closed door.

               I am a Counsellor who listens, validates and acknowledges each client's story  with               empathy and compassion and who has the insight, ability and training to equip                    with skills and strategies to help move the process forward. Coupled with my                          encouragement and support , coming out the other side and seeing light at the end                of the tunnel is not only possible but empowering and rewarding.

            I have AQF Level 8 Qualifications with Graduate studies in Counselling and                           Psychotherapy, Advanced Diploma in Counselling and Family Therapy and                              Diploma in Christian Counselling. I am also a Registered Member of the                                 Australian  Counselling Association.

           I work within a holistic approach as an Integrative Psychotherapist, which enables                 the flexibility of utilising various researched models according to the variety of                       issues and needs that are presented.
